Mess- und Regelungstechnik (MRT)

Lecture conductor:  Professor Rudibert King  (updated March 25, 2012)

The overview of the course content can be found somewhere on the FG Mess - & Regelungstechnik
(there used to be a course content sheet, it is no longer available now)

(Professor Wozny asked Professor King personally to stop signing credit recognition forms, because Professor Wozny doesn't like it and saw too much of those forms going around for this class.  I'm sorry.  You could still try, though, Professor King is very helpful.)
If you have studied the topics for control systems (most of mechanical students) such as (not limited to):
- Controller (P, I, and D) implementation, analysis and prediction using Bode diagram, root-locus, state-space, unit-step response, impulse response, Nyquist diagram, complex domain, ... etc.
- Controller approximation and stability prediction (cut-off frequency, over-shoot, dead time...)
- Solve problems in applications of pressure, temperature, reaction, flow, electric systems, ... etc.

Visit Professor King and bring all the past study materials that you can find and your transcript from before and have him fill out the Antrag auf Anerkennung form (form) for Prüfungsamt registration.  Make sure all the parts are filled in:
YOU fill out the first page:
- Name
- address, "An die Vorsitzende des..." part
- professor's name
- "Ich beabsichtige zum..." part
- cross the selection "Materprüfung"
- "Ich war immatrikuliert an der TUB seit dem..." part
- cross the "Ich habe bisher golgende Studien- bzw...." selection
- sign
And CHECK if the professor filled the LAST PAGE out correctly :
- Studiengang
- date
- professor's name
- app.
- one of the reasons (in longer written form, has to include the name of the module, the course and the condition of the exemption)
- Beurteilung (the points for the course), "Nach erfolgter Prüfung..." part
- his signature
After filling all the important parts, go to Prüfungsamt with the form.

NEWS UPDATE:
Today, January 20, 2012, I just heard that because Professor Wozny had heard 2011 PEESE students have done the course recognition, and he personally went to Professor King and asked him not to sign PEESE student's course recognition forms.  I hope I could have known it earlier so that I could update this information on this blog, but no one left a message on the blog to inform me, so I didn't know about it.  Sorry people, maybe after Professor Wozny retires in 2013 (or was it 2014?), with a new department head and you guys could try again.

Studying for the exam:

Past MRT (and RT I) exams
